Of course overweight people should be able to go to any club and not feel bad about themselves, but some people just aren't comfortable with the stardard club scene, and this gives those people a place to go and shake their bon bons.

Wow- I can only imagine the shit a group would get for wanting to gather "thin" people together who felt uncomfortable in clubs because there were too many fat people. If the idea is to "ditch the idea"...- then they should go to regular clubs with the general public as a group, rather than segregate themselves at their private parties.
Anonymous, I agree with you that the idea is a double-edged sword. It seems to me that sometimes we can't live in an ideal world where fat people are confident and feel good about themselves. And how is it different from people who go to gay clubs or fetish clubs? You go where you feel comfortable with the people who are there, to a certain extent.
interesting comments but I would feel more out of "society" and unacceptable if I went to a club only for overweight people. I do not want to identify myself as primarily obese. I have many other attributes. If we look around, most people are overweight, and so what.
