Lohannia
Picked up from gossip maven Shawn at The Usual Suspects, this article provides some all important Lindsay Lohan follow-up.
Our discussion in the comments to the previous Lohan post was about how if she said she was “making herself sick,” that doesn’t necessarily equal an eating disorder. But from the interview with the writer of the Vanity Fair piece:
“’I think Lindsay was most revealing about her eating disorder, actually," Peretz tells CBS News. ‘She was very open about that, and she really said, “I could have died."’ Peretz says Lohan described to her how her illness developed: ‘She was hospitalized during the filming of “Herbie Fully Loaded” and, while in the hospital, she lost a lot of weight, and when she got out, she really liked how she looked, and she continued to diet, and she also had bulimic episodes. And she really took it too far.’”
Now I’m back to thinking she did have an eating disorder and is covering it up. Or maybe she just used cocaine to lose weight. I hear that works great!

Ha ha!! Cocaine IS a great diet supplement but it has some REALLY NASTY SIDE EFFECTS:
a) Kissing your coke dealer who is a sweaty man who wears sunglasses day and night for a discount.
b) Pooping in public bathrooms(because they cut it with baby laxative) whether you want to or not.
c) You think you're an expert on everything and tell everyone how smart you are.
d) Cackling
e) Crashing -- during which you feel like the most hideous, horrible, ugly on the inside person EVER, and needing other, more sedating drugs to feel better.
f) ending up in an outpatient (or inpatient) rehab and regaining everything you lost and more.
I do not recommend this diet.
This is so interesting! I never went to the original source, I just saw the commentary on the Today show. "I was making myself sick" and "I am bulimic" are really very different statements. So, I'm going to have to revise my opinion and put my money on the coke. I've had some experience with the ole bulimia myself and it doesn't make you that thin. But I think coke does!
Actually, I do suspect her weight loss was due more to the coke than to bulimia.
I've been studying eating disorders for a few years and often, bulimics tend to remain at a stable weight, often their starting weight. People tend to confuse the results of anorexia and bulimia.
Also, there's some crazy story that she was making out with Kate Moss at some strip club and they were high as kites.
And this was...two or three days after she was "appauled" at the magazine's story...
I'm going to go with Anon #3 and say that I agree that Lindsy Lohan did not look like someone with Bulimia. Bulimics tend to have "average" or "normal" weights. If it were an eating disorder, Lohan's would more likely be Anorexia, or perhaps Anorexia-Bulimia.
I'll go with her contention that it was in part due to drugs. Though there was probably a lack of food involved too.
