Just My Size
I love what Julie has to say about exercise videos for plus-sized people.
"If videos like “Just My Size Yoga” get people comfortable with the idea of exercising, even looking forward to it? That’s a great victory. Sure, there are plenty of beginner-friendly exercise videos out there, but as far as I know they all harp on weight loss as the ultimate goal. 'Walk it off with George.' 'Weight Loss Walk with Leslie Sansone.' Not all plus-sized people have “Stop Being Plus-Sized” on their to-do list."

I really like yoga. I really suck at it, but I still really like it. My problem? Not only am I not as flexible as many others, I also have added girth that gets in the way of some poses. When I first read about "Just My Size Yoga" I damned near jumped for joy. Finally, a workout video for real women that will take into consideration the possibility of body fat getting in the way.
I think that more workout videos should be made for the non-skinny, not just because it promotes a healthy life style without pushing the idea of us having to be thin, but also because there are things that need to be taken into coincideration when the student has extra rolls and weight.
I CONGRADULATE ALL THE GIRLS THAT HAD THE SELF ESTEEM TO GO ON NATIONAL TV. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW THE WORLD TO SEE HOW I HAVE LOST CONTROL AND ALLOWED MYSELF TO GET TO THE SIZE I AM. PERHAPS IF I EVER WENT ON A SHOW LIKE THAT, IT WOULD PUT MY SELF-ESTEEM UP TO A LEVEL WHERE I COULD BE MOTIVATED TO LOOK GOOD AGAIN
I just bought Just My Size Yoga and I love it. I am so happy that a product like that is out there. It is encouraging to see a woman with a belly leading the video rather than a skinny miny who says I should look like her. It is encouraging to hear that I am strong, beautiful and capable of more than I know from Meghan (the instructor) while acting on that concept through yoga. I only wish there were more videos like this out there.
