Do You Think You're Sexy?
Science proves that confidence is key in a series of experiments.
"They had an overweight woman in a bikini, and one of them said, 'Do you think I'm sexy,' and one of them said, 'Do you think I'm fat?' And the results were that people responded yes to whatever it was. So in essence we're walking around with a sign around our neck saying, 'I'm sexy,' or 'I'm fat.'"
I don't know how scientific any of this really is, but the article is full of good advice. I myself will try to stop obsessing over my fat roll, Flappy, immediately.

We just covered this in a class I'm taking, when talking about health surveys the professor pointed out that the way the question is worded will absolutely affect the answer. People prefer to agree with what they think they are being asked.
Lisa Tealer is fantastic, a real sweetheart, and she is also co-owner of a gym just for big girls in the South Bay. This is an excellent weight-positive article about her gym as well as the changes in the plus-size clothing industry: http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/04.12.01/plusmarketing-0115.html).
OMG, I totally want to name my fat roll now. How about Pouchy?
My boyfriend calls my fat roll Jello as a term of endearment! A bit weird at first when I thought he was being insulting- but I soon realised he means totally the opposite. It just goes to show how our own self esteem can affect our understanding of what people say to us.
