Internet Nepotism
Hey, I'm back! Thanks to awesome anne for holding down the fort single-hamdedly. (See what I did there? With the ham?) Anyway, here I am, plugging an entry by the poster girl for sexy, fashionable plus-sized women everywhere, my darling friend, Weetabix.
"And don't even dare to hope that you're going to find any Mizrahi For Target above a size 18, because you're just going to be disappointed. The placement of the maternity clothes so near the plus sizes is almost an insult. Poor sad size SMALL lass who is encumbered with a baby bump for an ungodly six months, we will placate you with adorable sundresses and jaunty business wear. But be fat for life? Hope you like Cherokee camp shirts!"
One of my favorite chicks talking about my favorite store. It's like Kate Winslet in last week's Entertainment Weekly, when she said, and I promise this is true, "I love Maid in Manhattan." I love when the things I love collide. Oh! And also, while I'm on the subject, why not go visit Weetabix's Product Anarchy site? It will make you covet things. Like an egg night-light.

Well, that is a very, very cute dress. The girl has taste as well as wit and insight...
(I have no insights into Target, but their policy does sound pretty silly.)
was that a fat joke, mo pie?
No, that was a ham joke. Do not sully the good name of ham by implying that it is bad. Ham is always good!
This is true, and case in point: Mo's most adorable dress that she wore to her going away party was a Target dress. However, I suspect that she's getting her clothes from the standard size section (which does goes from S through XXL or about a 16/18, maybe?) rather than the plus size section, which carries sizes 14 - 26. Mo, if this is not the case, clue me in on your mad shopping skilz.
Yeah, that's the secret--being that in-between size where I can shop in the regular section for some things. I did get a very cute shirtwaist dress/shirt last time I was there, though, and it was in the plus section! There was only one left in the store; they must have been snapped up. Fortunately it fit.
Target is pretty neat. Except for the one time I was shopping there for a bathing suit and discovered that all the 16s from the plus section were way too small for me, even though many of the 14s from the regular section were too big, and I was sad and happy and confused all at the same time.
Go to WalMart. I bought one of their George houndstooth-checked blazers and had it tailored.
Target for makeup only (Sonia's brushes are awesome). And housewares. And sunglasses.
OK, then. :D
