Foot Binding Is The New Black

"Today, surgeries such as shortening the second toe, collagen injections into the footpads, and narrowing the feet are being performed on women desperate to feel fashionable."

Otherwise known as, you've got to be fucking kidding me.

Ugh! A looooong time ago, it was fashionable and a sign of wealth for women in China to have tiny feet -- achieved by binding the toes to make them curl in and stop growing.

Although I shouldn't be surprised, I am. This is just sick. I joke about getting a breast lift, but there is no way I would operate on such a delicate area of the body as the foot just to wear an $800.00 pair of Manholo's.

There really is a world of difference between operating on superficial structures with no weight-bearing function or MOVING PARTS, like boobs or your nose...versus doing something like restructuring a foot!

How about spending the plastic surgery money on getting fashionable shoes custom-made to fit your feet?

I have very thin bony feet and
collegin injections make shoes
or walking barefoot on surfaces bearable for me. Even carpeted
floors were uncomfortable.
Injections last less than a year
and are rather expensive, but
is worth it!

there is no difference between a boob job and foot binding-it's all
artificial inhancement to beauty-but whose idea of beauty is it. when are we just going to accept each other as we are-not the physical but the soul, personality-heart

I like the idea... it is so sad that this practice has ended.
