I Thought I'd Heard Them All
An overview of wacky and not-so-wacky diets. My favorite is the Blood Group Diet:
"For example, type A blood groups are descended from farmers, so they should avoid meat and dairy. If you are type B, your ancestors were nomads, so meals should be of red meat and fish. Type O, you are descended from hunter-gatherers, so eat lots of animal protein with few carbohydrates."

It sounds crazy, I know, but both of my parents went on that diet a few years ago. They're still sticking to it with modifications, but they are much healthier and happier! They're type O - it boiled down to mainly no wheat, no corn, and no potatoes. That doesn't sound so bad to me. Yes, lots of meat and veggies, and certain ones are better than others.
I honestly think if you look at the majority of diets out there you'll see that they're saying the same things, just with different twists. This one worked for them.
As a biologist I can tell you that the scientific basis for this diet is wery weak (read: nonexistent).
Also, the different diets might work for different people, but I'm sure the lo' carb high protein diet would worke also for group A and B people if they are consistent in their diets.
I'm a group O, and I am a descendent from farmers, and oh.. vikings.. I wonder if there is a diet for people of that descent...
