Rosie O'Donnell...
...on our old friend Star Jones. Because I am committed to keeping you posted on the latest goings on with Star Jones.
"I don't understand with Star Jones why she's alright with talking about having a breast augmentation ... but not gastric bypass... I don't understand that... If you have to have gastric bypass because you feel it's a medical emergency and you have no alternative, then you have that, and there are repercussions to having that... but to pretend you lost it doing Pilates is kind of delusional."
Article here, and I guess there's going to be a story on Entertainment Tonight. I love the fact that someone publicly called on Star Jones for being delusional. Even if it is a lesbian who conveniently stayed in the closet until her talk show was off the air.

I, too, have wondered why the secrecy about Star's weight loss. On the one hand, I'm grateful to her for not becoming yet another promoter of the surgery. On the other, why not just say what happened? That you were tired of being fat and were willing to risk your life to be thin even for awhile?
I have met Star before when I was on the View a few years back. All the other cast members, particularly Meredith Viera, welcomed me warmly. Star sort of looked the other way when I came in her direction. Perhaps she feels that it's not OK to be OK with being fat, which is the point of view which got me on the show in the first place.
Jan, thank you for the kind words! And your theory is quite plausible. I didn't reailze there was a book in the works, but if there is I can see how she would want to promote the heck out of it.
Star's job is to do her best on The View..she doesn't owe anyone exact details to her surgeries or anything else that is private. Every human being, public person or not, has the right to say what they please about their personal life and if they want to conceal something be it for whichever reaason, they are free to do so. I don't understand why Rosie keeps bashing her. Ever since she left her so, she's become very mean and vindictive. I think she's just jealous that Star looks great...Rosie, just take care of yourself and if you want to talk about your private stuff, the do so..but don't bash other people for using their God-given right to speak as they please.
I agree, Rosie is one to talk about keeping secrets...what about her whole thing with Tom Cruise for years ...she is fake, fat, meanie who will bring down "The view." Her mean ways are disgusting she needs to look in the mirror (if she can) and call her self out.....Yuck...what a hippocrite.
Communication is so important and it was definately lacking at ABC. Ill tell you what I think happened at the View. The executives at the View wanted Rosie Odonnell on the show. Rosie ODonnell is jealous that Star looks great!!! Rose told executives that she wanted Star off the show so they started rumors and created controversey!
I agree with anonymous #1 that everyone has a right to privacy - about weight loss surgery or anything else for that matter. However, if one is going to write a book after losing a hundred pounds and claims one lost it by eating healthy and exercising when, in fact, one had gastric bypass, that's just plain ole lying! It's irresponsible to give false hope to those who are seeking help.
