Nobody's Slump-Buster
An article about slump-busters and double standards.
"Consider this gender differentiation: A gorgeous, fit guy who sleeps with an overweight, unattractive woman is 'throwing himself on a grenade' for the team. A gorgeous, fit girl who sleeps with an overweight, unattractive man is lucky to have found romance in 'Sideways' and 'Hitch.'"
On the other hand, I did like the quote that said a woman could be fat or ugly or both. It's always nice to have that razor-thin line drawn that separates "fat" from "ugly."

The last page of this hit home. Well, all of it was disgusting, but the last page definately was a "home run hit".
I was dumped by my last boyfriend because while I was pretty, smart, fun, and we communicated well and he really liked me - I was overweight and he couldn't handle the mental anguish of what his family and friends might say about him being with 'someone like me'.
He just got engaged to a "plastic".
God, that was sickening. I'm sorry I read it. I think this is all about misogyny and nothing about obesity. It's horrifying that there are people in the world so willing to dehumanize others like this.
Yeah, I here it is pretty common in baseball. There is even a site that offers Major League Players a chance to buy Slump Buster hats and T Shirts.

That's right... but slump busting is not just for male athlete's. Its a concept that applies to anyone who is in a "slump" (ie: business woman having a slow month in sales.)
I think a slump-buster applies to anyone! I personally wouldn't touch a fat guy if my life depended on it, but I think the term is funny and catchy. I can't stand women who over analyze everything..if youre fat and upset about the term used so commonly by baseball players, then lose some weight.
